On Saturday afternoon, 31st May 2025, over 200 people experienced a hugely moving ‘Profound Silence’ in the sanctuary of the Isle of Bute Parish Church. All had spent the previous 80 minutes enjoying the exquisite singing of Opera Bohemia and the musicianship of the Amicus Orchestra performing Puccini’s opera ‘Suor Angelica’. At the end, the audience sat in awed silence, barely breathing, as the emotions and the setting of the opera overwhelmed them. Tears were shed. We are grateful for the happy collaboration we have with Bute Arts Society who bring outstanding musicians to the Island throughout the year.
