At 7.00 am today about 30 Christians from all the congregations of Bute climbed the hill up to the ruined remains of St Blane’s Church. We had a joyful service led by Father Jared from St Andrew’s Church, and lusty singing accompanied by Ian playing his ‘Kist o’ Whistles’ (a tiny, early 1900s, foot pumped, portable organ). After strolling back down the hill admiring the magnificent views and the gambolling lambs Jeanette greeted us with hot tea and hot cross buns served from the boot of her car.
